About Sunshine
Sunshine is a Rich Text Format (RTF) and plain text editor for Windows.
Version Information
1.0:
Initial release.
Program Startup
The files Sunshine.exe and Manual.html should be copied
from the ZIP archive to a local directory. Sunshine can be added to the Start menu by right-clicking
Sunshine.exe and selecting Pin to Start. Create shortcuts by right-clicking and
dragging the EXE file to the desired location and selecting Create shortcuts here.
The program loads in a blank state by default, but can also be opened by dragging and dropping a file onto the Sunshine executable or a shortcut to it. Rich Text Format is enabled by default in the File menu and indicated by a label on the toolbar. Files which are not valid RTF files will be opened and saved as plain text using UTF-8 encoding.
When an RTF file is loaded, the Plain Text option in the File menu will automatically be unchecked. Conversely, the Plain Text option will automatically be checked when a file of any other format is opened. RTF files can be converted to plain text and vice versa by clicking this menu option.
User Interface
The File menu contains all file operations including the Plain Text option, Edit contains all editing operations, and Help contains program documentation.
The toolbar under the menu provides easy access to file and editing operations, as well as styling and formatting operations: Bold, Italic, Underline, Strikeout, and Regular. Next to these are Align Left, Align Center, and Align Right.
All available fonts are listed in the box under the toolbar. Text size can be decreased and increased using the - and + buttons. Text foreground and background colors can be set with the corresponding buttons.
As the cursor is moved around in a document, the active style, font, alignment, and colors are reflected in the toolbar.
